Biography of Nimrod McNair
Colonel McNair has a broad range of experience in the career fields of military,
science, education, religion and business.
He was a professor at North Carolina State University, a director of the aerospace program in the Pentagon, an Air Force advisor to NASA, and a
combat commander in Vietnam, and a candidate for governor of the state of Georgia.
He is a command pilot and a rated navigator. During combat in World War II and in Vietnam, he flew more than 600 combat hours on 110 missions. He was shot down twice and
has survived four airplane crashes. He has been awarded the Air Force Distinguished Flying Cross and other decorations.
Currently he is the president of The McNair group, a business consulting firm. He is chairman and founder of Executive Leadership Foundation, a nonprofit organization that promotes ethics in business
and society based on Judeo-Christian values. He is chairman and owner of Environment Control of Atlanta, a commercial building and maintenance company. He is a Certified Management Consultant
and is listed in the Dictionary of International Biographies and Who’s Who In America.
Colonel McNair has spoken and led seminars in more than 30 countries on subjects of management and leadership. He frequently speaks at governors and mayors prayer breakfasts in the United States
and in other countries. He is also a resource speaker for the Young Presidents Organization and The Executive Committee. His favorite topics are ethics based on the Ten Commandments and his
personal experience in pursuit of peace and faith
Colonel McNair received his B.S. degree from the University of Alabama, his M.S. degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology and graduated from the Air Force School of Management. He
studied contemporary religion for three years at the Virginia Theological Seminary. His numerous academic honors include membership in the National Honor Society, Phil Eta Sigma, Tau Beta Pi,
Theta Tau, Tau Kappa Epsilion. He is an author of three books plus many articles and pamphlets.
He has served as a member of the boards of directors on numerous organizations such as American Association of Bible Colleges, Professional Athletes, Inc., Executive Ministries, the Greater Chicago
Christian Businessmen’s Committee, Environment Control, Inc., the Peale Center, the Stone Croft Ministries and the Prayer Breakfast network. He has also been a member on the James Madison
Institute for Public Policy Council. He is a former commander of American Legion Post 134 in Atlanta, Georgia. Currently, he is a member of the Air Force Association, the Retired Officers
Association, The Society for Strategic Air Command, and the Silver Wings Fraternity, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, World War II Round Table, the Atlanta Old Guard and the Church of the Apostles.
